Description
Church Reformer Dr. Martin Luther emphasized the concept of the “Theology of the Cross.” While lecturing on his hymns, he stated that “The Cross alone is our theology.” These teachings were expressed between 1519 and 1521 AD.
Martin Luther explained that no human being can earn righteousness before God through personal merit. Instead, Jesus Christ alone bore the curse by hanging on the tree of death (the Cross) for the salvation of humanity. Through His sacrifice, believers receive righteousness and redemption.
Luther first presented the Theology of the Cross in 1518 at Heidelberg, where he taught that a true theologian is one who recognizes God's work through the suffering of Christ. According to him:
-
A theologian who seeks glory may call evil good and good evil.
-
But a theologian of the Cross calls things as they truly are.
-
The message of the Cross reveals the true nature of sin, grace, and salvation.
This devotional book reflects on these biblical truths through 40 powerful meditations, helping believers grow spiritually and understand the depth of Christ’s sacrifice.
